PBS Understanding the Opioid Epidemic - Screening and Q&A In-Person

This event will include a screening of the 1 hour documentary, Understanding the Opioid Epidemic, by PBS released in early 2018.

The film is rated TV-PG, and the description is as follows: "It captures the story of the opioid crisis through personal stories and interviews with experts and reveals the tragic impact of the overuse of prescription painkillers on individuals, families, and communities."

Please invite family and friends, as we are hoping the film will open a pathway for further conversations with loved ones. The opioid epidemic is the #1 health crisis in America today, "more prevalent than diabetes and cancer (Monroe County Department of Public Health and Department of Human Services)." Education may be the first step towards healing for many communities.

Jennifer Faringer from The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence will be available for questions after the screening. She will also provide further resources for those looking for information.
