In this Moment: Herb Smith

In this Moment: Herb Smith In-Person

Popular music changes with the times. Once, Beethoven, Verdi, Mozart, Stravinsky, and other classical composers created the popular music of the day. Not so much now. However, the same skills we use to listen to today's popular music can be carried over into the Classical music of yesteryear. The language spoken by classical music may not be as well known today, but you can learn. Join Herb Smith, guest conductor and 3rd trumpet of RPO, as he helps you interpret and unlock the language of Classical music. This program, jointly sponsored by Pittsford Community Library, Webster Public Library, and Penfield Public Library, is part of a series highlighting participants of In This Moment: Revolution Reckoning Reparation, a special project for 10 teams of black writers and photographers profiling 10 black leaders from across the city of Rochester published by Visual Studies Workshop.
