Tuesday Travelogue -The Coastal Lowlands and Barrier Islands of Georgia and South Carolina

The Coastal Lowlands and Barrier Islands of Georgia and South Carolina .  Join us for a 200 mile cruise along the Intra-coastal Waterway of the Southeast.  We begin with a walking tour of old Charleston, SC, where we board our ship.  After a view of Fort Sumter, we sail south on the Waterway.  We visit Beaufort, SC and see the house where the Civil War was planned.  We visit historic sites on St. Helena’s Island, Hilton Head Island, and rural Daufuskie Island, where the movie “Conrack” was filmed.  A whole day is devoted to old Savannah, GA and its many antebellum homes.  The next stop is Brunswick, GA and nearby Jekyll Island and its famous sea turtle hospital, followed by a leisurely tour of St. Simons Island.  Our cruise ends at Amelia Island, FL and the lively annual Shrimp Festival at Fernandina Beach.  Presented by Gene Wolfarth
